Saturday September 25th
Read: Proverbs 3:1-12
Learn: We have been talking about the importance of letting go and looking forward this week. That isn’t always easy, but it is very important. What we are truly doing when we let go of things that are hindering us is giving them over to God. In verse 5 it says to “trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding.” By letting go of things in our life that have become dead weights and hindrances, we are trusting God to take care of our concerns. As you have been working to let go of things this week, you have been counting on God to take care of you. You have been counting on God to heal you and handle your fears or worries. The author of Proverbs highlights the importance of trusting God in this passage. We must trust Him in all things. With our past, with our future, with our lives, with our health, with our finances, etc. Even when things get difficult, we must trust Him.
Reflect: Are you trusting in God and not in yourself? Are you trusting God to lead you? Have you let go of every dead weight in your life that keeps you from an abundant life in Christ?
Pray: God, I have worked hard this week to let go of my past, to let go of bitterness, and to let go of anything hindering your will for my life. Help me to continue to trust you in all things, to give my concerns to you, and to not allow anything to hold me back from you. In Jesus name, Amen.
